“Knowledge is only rumor
until it lives in the bones.”
Design and details are housed in my bones. It was a whisper for years before I gradually embraced that creating was what I was meant to live out full-time.
My aesthetic is heavily inspired by history, art (particularly the Dutch Masters and Andrew Wyeth), Europe, the South, and whatever city landscape I happen to be in. I also pull ideas from the recent past, nature, food, fashion, and architecture from all corners of the world. I have a fondness for imperfection and look for any opportunity to layer decades.
Admittedly, my personal time and professional endeavors often intersect which provides an opportunity to learn something new about the work I do and the momentum to put one foot in front of the other in the pursuit of a creative life.
I enjoy a shared meal, podcasts, reading, rummaging, filling notebooks, creating mood boards for fictitious projects, and resting in the middle of the day. It is a goal of mine to expand my editorial work and one day collaborate on a restaurant concept... Because I believe we eat as much with our eyes as we do with our mouths. I hope my visual perspective on the world around us can be transformative to projects and collaborations.
Simply: I hope to do beautiful work that is meaningful.
